Review: Ember of Night (Ember of Night #1) by Molly E. Lee

Unloved by my abusive, alcoholic dad. Unwanted by my classmates. Unnoticed by everyone else.

But I’d suffer anything to give my kid sister a better life—the minute I turn eighteen, I’m getting us the hell out of here. And some hot stranger telling me I am the key to stopping a war between Heaven and Hell isn’t going to change that.

Let the world crumble and burn, for all I care.

Draven is relentless, though. And very much a liar. Every time his sexy lips are moving, I can see it—in the dip of his head, the grit of his jaw—even if my heart begs me to ignore the signs.

So what does he want?

I need to figure it out fast, because now everyone is gunning for me. And damn if I don’t want to show them what happens when you let weeds thrive in the cracks of the pavement…

We can grow powerful enough to shatter the whole foundation.

Ever since the synopsis was released, I knew this is right up my alley. And boy was it ever.

This book was even more amazing than I thought it be. It was so easy to read and get lost in Harley’s world.

As mentioned in the synopsis, this book will touch on child abuse, alcoholism, neglect and more. So, if that is something that will bother you, this book might be a trigger.

From the very beginning you will start to love Harley…. and it’s hard not to feel for her, because she can’t seem to catch a break. And then it seems the whole messed up world she knows is about to be tossed one more time.

I love that Harley is not straight up good or bad. That she struggles, not only in life but with her morals, it takes a while. But no matter what, those she loves and protects she will walk through fire for no matter the cost.

Draven, what’s not to love about this dude. Tall, dark and handsome and to top it off wicked sense of humor…

Honestly, there is not much I can say without spoiling it, so I will make it short and just say read it, it’s amazing. ❤

The only thing I didn’t care for, but that is my personal opinion, it was a little insta love like, and if you know me, you know that is not my favorite. Other than that, it was super fun, exciting, with lots of action and plot twists.

Speaking of that … OMG … that ending …. Holy smokes, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

I rate it 4.5 ★
